(Troubleshooting)
I
am having problems programming my car (on board) remote.
My door won’t close – only closes part way and goes back
up (reverses) – will only close if I hold in the wall button.
- Safety photo eyes may be out
of alignment – happens if they are blocked also (snow shovel or broom for
example). Located on the interior
garage door tracks near the bottom.
Make sure that the beam of light is being received from one side to the
other. Clear the area and line up
so that there is a steady green light on the unit.
Lights
won’t work.
- Change bulbs – use heavy-duty
light bulbs, check socket for proper wattage.
Remotes
won’t work.
- If the operator works by the
wall button, first check batteries, they may need replacing. If not, the remotes may need to be
re-programmed.
- check if lock button on wall control panel is ON.
Reprogramming remotes.
- At the back of the operator
head there will be a “smart” button (it may be red, yellow or green). You may have to remove a light cover,
push in the “smart” button then push your remote button – door should
open. Do not hold the push button
in as that action will clear all programming and all remotes and keypads will
have to be reprogrammed.
